So as it turns out I do not have any form of internet type access. It si very crazy. We were told that someone was coming to install a phone line on Tuesday but as it turns out they did not show up. WE finally have a complete staff. Our last staff member arrived as the kids were lieaving after teh first week. Other than the buses being a combined 4 hours late this past week things went realtively smoothly. Our first day of camp was Canada Day and the DYS at Camp Newport was doing fireworks for everybody and one malfunctioned and went off in his face. It looked like it was going to be pretty bad at first. I mean it was a firework in his face. However it appears that his glasses took most of the force adn he only received minor burns and a cut. Lucky guy. This may be completely random but I am just sharing things that come into my head as they come into my head. Yesterday Amanda and I were driving down teh highway and we saw something that looked like roadkill in the middle of the lane ahead of us. As we got closer we were surprised to see that it was a fish trying to swim across the highway. We certainly had a good laugh about that!! So far things are starting to come together though. We have a few kinks to work out but we will get there. I discvovered the hard way as did most others that my tent was not completely waterproof. Also, the night that it rained Amanda and myslef had to go and resuce a female staff person from a male camper site in a thunderstorm on a metal pontoon boat. It was so dark that we had to call to get people to stand on the docks with lights or else we would have been still out in the water driving in circles. IT was so dark that even with flashlights we could not see any sign of shore or which direction we were travelling in!! Anyway we must go because there is a serious craving for some Wendy's.
