Well. I am not sure about this updating everyday thing. I may have to pay more attention to what is going on around me if I intend to come up with something interesting everyday. Especially if I have to come up with something interesting and inspirational. We will have to see how this develops. I have never been one for journalling. I have been told on many occasions that I should get into the habit of it. I have even encouraged others to journal. I have tried on many more than one occasion and it just does nto seem to be the thing for me. Perhaps blogging will help me to develop the discipline of journalling. On the topic of discipline I heard somebody once say that they do not like the term spiritual discipline and would rather we referred to spiritual disicplines has holy habits. Interesting thought. I wonder if that is watering things down and giving ourselves an out. In my mind a habit is something that you do without thinking about it. Like picking your nose in the car for example. Whereas I think it may not be such a good idea to make interaction with God something that we do not think about. I think if something is a discipline then we must be deliberate and intentional about it. Holy habits versus spiritual discipline. What do you think?

Holy habit almost does sound like watering it down...and God should never be watered down. So I agree with you on this.
I think there's a risk whenever we tie our beliefs to words in our particular language. While 'holy habits' does seem to indicate that no effort is needed, 'spiritual disciplines' can easily pose the opposite problem, making us think that they are things we must strive for and accomplish out of our own effort.
Ah the joys of political correctness. When things get political, no one is correct.
Ahoy Matie! The ship sunk, the iceberg is okay though. What happened to all the lonely people.
Hurrah for snow and slippery hills.
i agree with everything joyce peasgood says, always. except not. i do like "holy habits" though: for example, when a friend is hurting, i'm building a habit of asking "can i hug you?" (it's always nice to ask) just because i do it regularly doesn't mean it's not significant every time, right?
